    What is the difference between a router and a trim router? What is better for beginner?

    Good day. I think if you are interested in woodworking you should subscribe on some interesting blog or Youtube channel. Talking shortly Trim router usually used for edging, while plunge routers are designed for heavier work. Plunge router can be used for example to make cuts in the interior of a surface or something like this.

    Hello. Good answer. I can only add that almost all routers become trim routers when a bearing type cutter bit is fitted to it.
